New Cambria-Somerset County initiative offers remote workers $5,000 to relocate to area

Jay and Nikki Forde are from Seattle, Washington and moved to Johnstown last year.

“Seattle has been very good to us. We lived there, raised our kids there. But we’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle,” said Jay.

Since they run a website design business from home, they were able to switch to calm and quiet.

“It gives us a chance to literally work from anywhere. With a laptop, a phone, and some internet connection, my job follows me,” Jay told 6 News.
