Christopher Weir

Christopher Weir, CPA, ABV, is a Shareholder at Wessel & Company and has had a career serving clients in public accounting since 2003. Christopher supports the firm with his work in several areas including assurance and accounting, corporate tax, business valuation, mergers and acquisitions, ESOP advisory and employee benefit plans. He services clients in the manufacturing and distribution, technology, energy, and defense industries.

Professional Background

Prior to joining Wessel & Company, Christopher worked at RKL, a large firm based in Lancaster, PA. In addition to assurance services for clients in various industries, he specializes in advising clients on business valuation and exit planning matters.  His work in this area is typically related to the sale or acquisition of a business, stockholder transactions, succession planning, buy-sell agreement planning, and valuation work in connection with family law issues. Chris also works with Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) and ESOP owned companies on formation, audit and compliance, governance and valuation matters.

Education and Associations

Mr. Weir graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. His associations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), and the National Contract Management Association. He is also a PICPA Business Valuation Services Committee member, and an ESOP Association member – PA/DE Chapter. Chris also maintains an ABV designation, which is a business valuation credential sponsored by the AICPA.

Personal Background

Chris grew up near Philadelphia and now lives in Ebensburg with his wife and three kids. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, coaching his son’s baseball and soccer teams, and staying active in various outdoor activities.
